Fife Childcare and Early Years offer appropriate and relevant care and play experiences for children with additional support needs through providing specialised out-of-school care clubs; and also through providing one-to-one support through playfriends for children needing additional support in mainstream out-of-school care.

Our out-of-school care projects offer high quality, supported provision up to the age of 18.

Fife Childcare and Early Years Strategy fund ENABLE to provide a playfriend (one-to-one support) for children with additional support needs accessing mainstream out-of-school care.

We also fund CSNIPS an organisation offering playfriend support for pre-five children with additional support needs accessing playgroup or private nursery.

To further support these initiatives, Fife Childcare and Early Years Strategy fund RNIB to provide a resource base with specialist equipment, toys, books etc. When a child is referred to the base, their needs are assessed by RNIB to ensure the necessary equipment is available for each individual child.
